Luxury Boutique Hotel Photography

London luxury boutique hotel, L’Oscar, asked me to take their promotional wedding venue photography when they first opened. The individuality of a boutique hotel is something I’m sure you appreciate as much as I do? Boutique hotels are always my venue of choice when booking a weekend away. I have photographed many weddings in central London, but this particular style of wedding venue photography had to look different. L’Oscar is a boutique hotel whose dark purple, blue and gold tones ooze drama and decadence like no other. The colours are rich, the style is sumptuously elegant – not conservatively so – and the lighting deliberately adds contrast and drama. In other words, this is the opposite to a light, bright and airy location.

Photographing a unique style

L’Oscar is one of a handful of luxury destination hotels across Europe, designed to create unforgettable experiences in exceptional settings. The flowers used across the wedding ceremony interior compliment the rich colour palette beautifully, paired here with a slightly wild and abundant style. Don’t you also love the smaller vases used quirkily in the glass bookcases?

A decadently dark colour palette

Peacocks adorn the walls, their fantails accentuating the curved ceilings and the teal and gold setting off the design aesthetic for the rest of the room. The wood panelling and velvet chairs, which could in another location appear staid, instead set this venue miles apart. It is certainly worlds away from the other intimate London wedding venues on offer. L’Oscar made taking this luxury boutique hotel photography an absolute dream of a shoot.
